A quicky - not about to do full movie reviews on my blog, but I liked Das Parfum by Süskind a lot when I read it, and finally Hollywood dared to make a movie out of it.
Like the book, movie is out of the ordinary, slightly disturbing, and definitely worth a view.

Back in the early days of PDA’s, when I actually used these things, I was always crammed for memory. Dreams of having, say, Project Gutenberg in my PDA stayed dreams in the era of the Palm Pilot III….
As a lot of people did, I stopped using them after a while. I still have 2 or […]

Since a couple of days, I have a funny guest in my living room. It is september, spider time, which was made clear to me when I walked with my face into a web when stepping out of the front door yesterday , but usually I know what sort of folk I have around […]

In my
previous Java-bashing post, people started to pick the example apart rather than comment on the fact that Java still is missing some very obvious functionality, like closures. So I won’t come up with another example .

Anyway, they showed the Danish equipe entering the stadium. After frowning for 10 seconds, it struck me what was odd about the scene - […]

Last Saturday, we assigned our boy scout troop the task of building cooking fires and cooking a simple meal (err… ok, warming up a can of beans ). A nice challenge in a damp forest, and always a good opportunity to bring them up-to-date with safety practices: after all, they’re playing with axes, knifes, […]

It’s mostly marketing (a sleazy way to get better search engine visibility), but there may be information of use in the new Dutch section of my website for those that read the language. The content tells potential customers what I can do for them. At the moment, it is a voluntary click, but I mean […]

Well, after moving twice within a year it seems like I finally landed a house for the long term. Which means that a) my blogging activities will likely to be restricted in the coming weeks while I am finishing the deal, furnishing the house and moving, and b) that if you happen to be around […]
