Empty your bookshelves
My bookshelves are filling up, so I had the choice to either add another Ikea Billy or off-load some books. When talking with a colleague about a shared hobby, geocaching, he mentioned the concept of bookcrossing.
What a great way to get rid off the books that you liked but are likely never to read again (and books that you don’t like of course - maybe someone else will…). I’ve printed and applied the first batch of labels, registered a handful of books, and will be releasing them “in the wild” in the coming days. If you’re interested to see what happens with them, follow my bookshelf.

I saw this entry because of my Google alerts on BookCrossing. It IS a fabulous idea, isn’t it?!
But your name grabbed me. Any chance you took a creative non-fiction class at RRC last Spring? The only “cdegroot” I know was in that class
And even if you’re not he, Happy ‘Crossing!

oh LOL — I just checked out your BC profile. You’re in The Netherlands, so you probably weren’t in my class
I *am* half Dutch, though (my father came to the U.S. from Friesland at age 21), so hopefully you’ll forgive me being a crazy person posting on your blog. The Dutch BookCrossers call me Tante van 9
