Systemantics

I don’t know who referred it to me, but last week I read Systemantics - How Systems Work and Especially How They Fail - a little gem of a book filled with satire about, well, how systems don’t work.

Insightful, thoroughly enjoyable, and it does make one think at times. As it is a small book, I’ll keep it short. Let me just give a quote to show the sort of wonderful “laws” and “axioms” the author comes up with:

When a Fail-Safe system fails, it fails by failing to fail safe

Just get it - it’s a one-night read, and lot of fun. Or give it to your boss as a present.
