The LamaBox
The LamaBox adds another headache for the movie industry. This Dutch product brings access to p2p networks to the fingertips of the average consumer - it hooks directly to the TV, lets the user find movies, and starts downloading them in the background from Edonkey, Bittorrent, Fasttrack, Gnutella or Overnet - wherever the item is available.
It will be interesting how this pans out. So far, I haven’t heard that the movie industry has started a lawsuit against the company, but I don’t think that we will need to wait long. The machine seems to be a success, with production now shifting from manual assembly at LamaBox HQ to a Taiwan OEM, and as we all know, the movie bosses are allergic to anyone having success at their expense…
