Cable-barrier to be banned in the Netherlands
The Dutch MAG reports that parliament has unanimously accepted a motion to prohibit cable-barriers, also known as “egg cutters” in biker circles.
It is good to see that there’s finally some attention for motorcycles. I was shocked to hear that there are requirements for road barriers with respect to their safety to cars, but nothing exists for the much more vulnerable motorcyclists. As parliament also has required that road budgets take this vulnerable group into account, this will hopefully change soon.
