No Google
This won’t be the homepage of my next employer. I was contacted by a recruiter a couple of weeks ago, and they had some interesting positions open in Switzerland, so I went along.
Last Thursday was what they call a “technical screening”–a 45 minute trivia quiz, basically, carried out by a colleague-to-be. In all honesty, I wouldn’t know a much better way to quickly check someone’s technical prowess, but as I’m extremely lazy and never had the benefit of a CS training pumping me full with useless knowledge, I apparently failed the test
(it probably didn’t help that it was late in the afternoon and I just had a mild flu).
Still–a bit funny that the company that brought us the next level of search engines can’t come up with a method to reward people who use their very search engine to ‘outsource’ their knowledge…
