I don't know where you live, but there are many Tandy Leather stores in the
U.S. You can buy Moroccan book leather which is quite thin and I suppose,
historically was used for camera coverings (before the use of vinyl). You can
remove the old stuff and trace it onto a piece of paper for the leather
template. It is also very inexpensive, about $1.00 a square foot.
